An architectural marvel constructed in 1977 by Tokyo-based designers Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, the New Museum is Manhattan’s first-ever art house constructed from the ground-up, and a fitting home for international, contemporary art works. Its sweeping, seven-story stacked-box structure permits flexible interior constructs to exhibit works in an otherwise tiny ground-floor footprint.
Celebrated for its history of un-prejudicial openness to artistic whim and iconoclastic vigor, the internationally-renowned New Museum has a broad curatorial scope and helps accelerate new works from over 3,700 artists the world over.
