For a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Palm Beach, hit the bike trail that runs between the intercoastal and mansions on the island’s west side.
Though some estates are concealed by tall ficus hedges, the majority including the Seagull Cottage, the island’s oldest home, are in plain view for taking in architecture, English rose gardens and glamorous swimming pools.
Beginning at Worth Avenue at South Lake Drive, the trail meanders up the coast, turning into South Lake Trail then into North Lake Trail and finally—where the best part begins—North Lake Way to the island’s northern tip.
Note: Rent bikes at Palm Beach Bicycle located at 223 Sunrise Avenue.
