John Matkowsky, a well-known painter in black and white, established drkrm gallery in 2005. As the name implies, black and white print and photography are their specialty, which also includes homages to documentary and photojournalistic work. A familiar face in L.A.‘s art scene, Matkowsky’s reputation and devotion to this medium has established him and his gallery as a hub for photographers, connoisseurs and aficionados alike. Having been a curator himself, Matkowsky is not afraid by addressing untouched issues.
