Once known as “Spaceland”, the Satellite is an upgraded version of the Silver Lake indie rock club. Though the venue morphed into the Satellite in the mid-’90s, it continues to boast a similar roaster of rising music stars and old-school favorites. The intimate space manages to squeeze in two full bars and a small stage that miraculously manages to support big name music guests—from Rilo Kiley to the White Stripes—as well as lowlier up-and-comers. Be sure to come on Monday nights, when cover charge is free, and the music comes fresh.
