This small but very full boutique just off Soho Square specialises in the extreme end of contemporary fashion. The designers on offer are often drawn to wilder graphic prints, over-the-top accessories and a real emphasis on experimentation.
Essentially, it’s a stylist’s dream. Duds here include Marjan Pejoski (of notorious Björk swan dress fame), nu rave menswear from Cassette Playa, graphic knitwear and hoodies by Jeremy Scott, a splattering of Vivienne Westwood and great unisex items from designers like Raf Simons, Walter Van Beirendonck and Bernhard Willhelm. This is the first stop if you’re looking for unknown names making one-off pieces. In addition to the clothes, the jewellery and accessories command their own attention, ranging from Pejoski’s melting skull bracelets to reasonable pendants of pop-culture ephemera. Kokon to Zai have just opened a new branch on Goldbourne Road in West London to add to its sister branch in Paris. Aggy would approve.
