Still gleaming after its refurbishment in 2006, the May Fair Hotel is one of the most accessible five-star hotels in London. Situated in the heart of the May Fair village, much of London’s attractions are a mere stroll away, a big plus for its regulars like Elton John, Matt Damon, Hilary Swank and Madonna.
The rooms are spacious with contemporary furnishings and luxury touches such as Bang and Olufsen stereos in every room. However, it’s the 13 signature suites that allow the hotel to really come into its own. All-time favourites seem to be the Azure, complete with secret entrance and private lift, the Sciaparelli, the romantic cerise bolthole that has graced so many interior magazine covers and the Penthouse which comes equipped with its own bar and a roof terrace large enough to hold 50 people gawking over the stunning views over London.
