Shaniqwa Jarvis is an original insider of the New York downtown scene: knowing the people and the scene, she not only documents it, but has truly lived it. Now based between London and Los Angeles, Jarvis continues to represent the coolest in subculture with campaigns for Supreme and most recently the Stussy Women’s S/S lookbook. Shooting everyone from Mos Def and Jason Dill to Ciara and Johnny Rotten, Jarvis has a portfolio that holds within it all the genuine underground heroes that have made it big. In the same way, her personal work captures youth and fun with kids that the viewer knows will become ‘somebody’ in the not too distant future.
