This chip shop’s one of the best takeaway haunts in Covent Garden, but when the weather permits, snag one of the sidewalk tables and sink into a solid plate of London’s favourite fare without losing a step in the street life. Should the few tables already be claimed and you can’t, or don’t have the time, order the ever-satisfying fried sole or rock and chips and grab a beer from across the street (you’ll save a couple quid that way too).
The grub is good and the service speedy. While the downstairs might smell like the malt vinegar spilled too many times, the sea life-themed walls provide a humorous background to help you feel like a big fish in a small pond just for getting to enjoy this traditional British combination. Also a fine option to take refuge and get your fill when the rains strike up.
