With a staff as ballsy and rock n’ roll as the barnets they snip, Taylor Taylor on London’s Commercial Street features a predictable melting pot of style shapers sporting the east London uniform of skinny jeans, lumberjack shirts and many a sprawling tattoo all the way down to their talented fingers. Here, amidst a faded grandeur interior complete with deco chandeliers and vintage velvet armchairs, are some of Shoreditch’s most talented (read: award-winning) stylists.
Refreshingly, however, such prestige is delivered without an ounce of pretension. An informal ambience predominates, especially in the gilded, gold tiled basement washroom that is dimly lit and tranquil enough that you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a high end spa. Real, raw and and the perfect venue to sort out your festival look in good company.
