Started in 2005 by a group of music lovers who were fed up with the negative vibes prevalent in the business of venues and concerts, Luminaire dedicated itself to spreading an upbeat vibe, making both artists and guests feel welcome in their new venue.

Their passion and congeniality has paid off and by 2007 they had been named Time Out‘s live venue of the year and the Music Week’s UK venue of the year.

Having attracted international artists like The Books, Andrew Bird, Hot Chip and the Pipettes, the venue hosts shows nearly every night of the week. Though they’re not located in the spiffiest part of London, the smiling staff and solid line-ups are compensation enough.
