The Angel is a Soho gem, where locals stack up in the back to take turns at the dartboard and tables fill up with a regular crowd enjoying cheap pints of upstanding ale and other brews. The backyard outdoor seating area is a great place to sit back with mates; although it has to be an early engagement as the outside area closes at 17:15. Not that getting drink on early is tres difficult for Londoners, but this place can typically be quite mellow on workweek evenings.
Whenever you arrive, The Angel staff are prepared to fill your glass with a smile. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself in this jovial atmosphere. And considering all the stuffy pubs with lame geezers abound, The Angel stays true to its name as a saving grace for the unpretentious beer-guzzling populace.
