When Hay was launched in 2003 at the furniture trade fair, IMM, in Cologne, the ambitious goal was to “encourage Danish furniture design’s return to the innovative greatness of the 1950s and 1960s, but in a contemporary context”.
After having steadily built up a strong brand on the back of well designed products, Hay finally opened up its apartment-like store in 2008, and we must say, the space and designs within live up to the company’s aspirations.
Fitted with beautiful stucco decorations and light wooden floors, you can find an array of pieces by international designers as well as Hay’s own designs, together including items such as the Pinocchio carpet, the Hee dining chair, or the prize winning “Plopp” stool.
Located nearby the upscale Strøget district, Hay has earned a name for itself as a place of respite from the crowded tourist laden streets outside. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is ready to help you find inspiration among the various products—the only problem left is deciding what to take home.
