The philosophy behind &Union is simple: provide easy access to hand-crafted, artisan beers for Capetonians long-accustomed to mass-produced and unremarkable beer. Situated in the beautiful St Stephen’s Church development, just off Heritage Square, the interior has been as lovingly crafted as the beers, with counters wrapped around the interior and barstools taking the place of traditional tables, and a lovely outdoor area on the cobblestones.
Your ale of choice comes with complimentary tapas of either olives or nachos, but you can also choose a number of “plates” to accompany your drink: a spread of charcuterie from local farmers, gemsbok, tuna or butterfish carpaccio, or a selection of delectable spicy sausages and cheeses. Live music has also been added to the mix for the summer months.
