Since surfers Pierre De Villiers and Peter Button first ventured out to the break that became known as Dungeons sometime in the ’80s, daredevils and thrill seekers have followed suit, heading to the quaint harbor at Hout Bay to ride some of the most intimidating waves in surfing folklore.
To get the full throttle experience, you have to make your way out of the bay and toward the break which is made easier by hitching a ride with some fishermen till you’re out far enough. Then all you have to do is conquer these goliath waves and impress the crew, until they call time and sail you back to safe and dry terra firma. Simple.
