Waterkant Gallery is a contemporary art and retail space in the De Waterkant neighbourhood in Cape Town, where the work of new and emerging African talent, as well as more established artists is on show. The gallery acts as a base from which owner and director Matthew White promotes African art, locally, across Africa and internationally. In 2010 the Waterkant Gallery will make its international debut in New York and Amsterdam at the Affordable Art Fairs and at London’s Art London exhibition and Copenhagen’s Art Copenhagen exhibition.
In addition to the featured artworks, the gallery also stocks a range of international and African art titles ranging from popular and well-known authors such as Irving Penn, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Annie Leibovitz to specialised books that focus exclusively on Africa, its art, people, landscapes, and wildlife.
