Sleek Japanese produce is the name of the game in this concept store on Kronenstrasse (Oukan means crown, as does Kronen), from avant-garde clothing and design to art displays.

Turning tragedy to inspiration, Oukan 71 was borne of a project to provide exhibition space to Tokyo’s designers in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The multi-purpose space spans two floors, and is also home to an Asian tea room and restaurant serving raw, vegan, vegetarian and fish dishes by chef Eriko Ohsawa, protege of renowned German gastronomic genius, Tim Raue.
