Places in this guide

  • Neue Odessa The strip gets served

Berlin’s new art and hipster scene are all hanging out here from early hours till late.

  • Berghain Walking into bedlam

Berghain is a legendary techno club, hosting after-after-parties. Even if you’re not into this kind of music, it’s an experience you should not miss! From dusk till dawn.

  • Soju Bar Micro entertainment

Soju is a little bar next to Kimchi Princess, they belong together. Soju bar turns into a club after midnight and has the best music bookings, with DJs like Headman, Jr Seaton, Trevor Jackson, Salto Mortale, Chmmr and Richard Clouston (Cosey Club London) just to name a few…

  • Postbahnhof Former railway station

This venue hosts good indie & rock concerts like Sonic Youth, Black Rebel, and Interpol just to name a few…

  • Picknick Jeunism Berlinoise

Picknick has 2 levels, in the smaller section upstairs people are playing post neo wave meets pop, and downstairs the people can dance to music from Fetish, Kaos, Headman, Munk. A favourite spot for after-parties from people like James Blake and Theo and Adam from The Hurts.

  • Wild at Heart Rock on

If you want pure rock ‘n’ roll – you can’t miss Wild at Heart!

  • 8mm Right in frame

A small, authentic, good bar showing film cult classics on the wall. A little treasure box, you can also watch Martin Gore play records for 5 people! Love it.

  • Panorama Bar To infinity and beyond

Panorama Bar is in the same building as Berghain, just on the lower level, but I prefer Berghain.

  • KingSize Big things come in small packages

A small bar in Mitte, the fantastic trio who are running this crazy bar are Boris Radzun & Stefan Landwehr, the owner of the famous restaurant Grill Royal, and Conny Opper, legendary club owner of Rio, Scala, Berlin Festival and one of my partners of the Broken Hearts Club. Berlin’s art and fashion scene celebrate and lose all sense of time at KingSize. The look is raw, exposed walls with art from Katja Strunz, Jonathan Meese, Cyprien Gaillard and a classic old wooden bar where you drink vodka & whisky from crystal tumbler glasses, which have become for many a must-have souvenir.
