Moorlake
Royal forest shelter

In 1840, Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm IV presented his Bavarian wife with a charming present: a Bavarian-style forester’s house on the shore of river Havel. Nestled in between Glienicke Bridge and Pfaueninsel, it was meant to be used at her leisure.

It didn’t last in the family’s hands for long. Fifty years later, the structure was turned into a restaurant with specially reserved seats for the house of Hohenzollern. Today, one might get a glimpse of the resplendence of the former Prussian royal dynasty while dining on classic local food.
