One of Kater Holzig’s main additions as the successor to the erstwhile Bar25 is an open-kitchen restaurant that makes up for its grunge with its fabulous gourmet. Located on an upper floor of the Kater Holzig building complex, your expectations for a dilapidated cantina will disappear once you enter this restaurant replete with gorgeous views of the Spree (and a Vattenfall power plant) as well as an adjoining rooftop open-air bar.
The seasonally-inspired menu changes weekly and usually features provincial specialities as starters and main courses, not to mention their array of sinful desserts. It’s staffed with a crew that appear old-school punk, but who possess full command of serving quality fare. The word on the street is that this “cat’s feast” is best accessed by reserving in advance, so do the smart thing and give them a call before swinging by.
