Tucked into a charming courtyard just steps from Berlin’s most beautiful square, Gendarmenmarkt, Guy offers culinary aficionados an elegant, affordable dining experience. Sparkling chandeliers, dark-suited waiters and a stylish crowd frame an airy three-story atrium bordered by impeccably set tables—a chic backdrop for head chef Marcus Zimmer’s inventive dishes.
Charismatic German actor Hartmut Guy owns the restaurant, which offers Mediterranean-inspired fare and light, refined dishes like tender codfish wrapped in South Tyrolean bacon with leek and potato-herb salad. The food is complimented by a well-stocked wine cellar and the opportunity—when it’s warm enough—to dine alfresco in the restaurant’s courtyard.
In addition to the standard menu, Guy also offers three and four-course menus that change monthly and come with a selection of paired Italian wines from Michele Chiarlo’s vineyards. Don’s miss the blood orange, sesame-halva and lemongrass parfait for dessert—it’s a small slice of artfully arranged heaven on a plate.
