Hardly does a gelateria come more charming in Berlin than Gemelli, wielding a no-fail combination of shabby chic decoration and thick, creamy ice cream. The all-white interior prettied up with stray branches and gilded mirrors challenges Schneeweiss for optimal use of blanched coloring, while astounding scoops of organic, house-made ice cream are never freezer-burned and even include several vegan options.
There’s coffee, tea and cake too, not to mention fresh pasta dishes, soups and other seasonally inspired dishes to supplement the sweets. Meanwhile, Gemelli’s fresh-pressed juices, such as one with red beets, carrots and ginger, might be the clever antidote to too much ice cream—though we say there is no such thing.
