To the casual observer (i.e. tourist), Austrian and German food are the same. Yes, there are some similarities and the two tend to overlap as well as influence each other—they are neighbors after all. However, at Felix’s, the food is distinct and quintessentially Austrian. With dishes from the traditional Wiener schnitzel to a casual afternoon coffee and cake, one can certainly taste the difference.
Located in Kreuzberg across from the Marheineke Markthalle, Felix’s is the perfect spot for an elegant evening. You can pick up some meatloaf bread after a main course of Kässpätzle or Schweinebraten if you’re still peckish. But make no mistake, Austrian food is as equally hearty as its German cousin.
