The Plänterwald forest lies slightly outside the city, on the south-east side of Treptower park. Tap into your inner Rilke with a long walk on the “Poetensteig” (poet’s path) towards the “Eierhäuschen” (egg house), which originally housed the park’s overseer who would sell fresh eggs to the boats that would float by on the Spree. Or just bring a mini-grill and some bratwurst and enjoy the sun. Either way, it’s bound to be relaxing.
