Jan Wentrup founded his eponymous gallery in September 2004 as a support network of sorts for young international artists. The gallery is mostly interested in providing fodder for healthy intellectual debate surrounding art production, and as such employs artists from different mediums—painting, drawing, sculpture—who approach their work conceptually and challenge preexisting notions. On-site experimentation is welcome here, as are off-site installations and more conventional medias.

All save for two artists featured here are represented solely by Wentrup Gallery. In addition to collaborations with Museums and Institutions for public and private display, the gallery is also present at art fairs spanning the globe including at Art Basel, Art Brussels, Armory Show in NYC, and FIAC Paris.
