Spawned by the same creative minds that brought you unlike.net, the Unlike Gallery made its debut as the dashing sidekick in Fall 2010. The live art space opened its doors with an exclusive exhibition of new paintings from original “Scrawl Collective” member, Steff Plaetz, with the Bristolian artist showcasing his style that sculpts rough sketchbook drawings into finished works of art. Exhibitions in 2011 have included the work of Vienna born photographer Lukas Gansterer and illustrations by Berlin based artist Karla Marie Bentzen.
Since its maiden project, the gallery has made strides as an inner-city art oasis for Berlin’s fervent and progressive movement, harboring international contemporary art spanning a plethora of mediums. Conveniently situated on Chausseestraße, this haven for art is easily accessed and keeps good company with nearby art institutions including Hamburger Bahnhof and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (NBK). Unlike Gallery is already forging itself a solid reputation as the new kid in town with something to say.
