This once loved theater venue, located next to the age-old Prater beergarden, recently reopened its doors after undergoing a full restoration.

A schedule of performances by Berlin’s Volksbühne ensemble commenced in April (2009). The popular company will inhabit the Prater while the original Volksbühne is itself being renovated.

Though plays are in German and rarely include English subtitles or translation, the venue also hosts musical performances and is home to a charming café that has become a popular hang-out for theater lovers and Prenzlauer Berg strollers alike.
