Martin-Gropius Bau
Créme de la créme

Originally built as an arts and crafts museum in 1881, the Martin-Gropius Bau has since evolved into one of the most au courant venues to take in contemporary art.

The museum was badly damaged in 1945; it wasn’t until 1966 that the Renaissance-style building was classified as a historical monument. Beautifully restored in the 1970s, the Martin-Gropius-Bau now hosts high-profile international exhibitions, such as the retrospectives of Richard Avedon and Le Corbusier.
