Konrad Fischer Galerie
Fishing for ideas

Konrad Fischer’s original gallery space in Düsseldorf—which still exists today—is a historical location for European debuts of significant minimal and conceptual artists such as Carl Andre, Richard Long, Bruce Nauman, Sol Lewitt, Lawrence Weiner, Robert Ryman and many more.

Throughout the decades, Konrad Fischer Galerie consistently pushes the envelope by inviting such artists as Daniel Buren and Gilbert & George to make site-specific installations and performances. The list of artists that the gallery has hosted goes on, including renowned photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher and Arte Povera artists like Mario Merz and Jannis Kounellis.

Heading into the late 20th century, the gallery welcomed challenging and interesting artists—both known and relatively obscure. Some of the newer artists included in shows are Thomas Schütte, Jim Lambie, Matthew Buckingham and Guy Ben-Ner. By 2007 the gallery had opened their Berlin space in order to continue their legacy of cutting-edge, international exhibitions.
