Originally founded as Ascan Crone Gallery in 1982 in Hamburg by Ascan Crone and Mechthild von Dannenberg, the gallery eventually changed its name in 1998 and moved to Berlin. In 2004 the Hamburg location closed in order to focus on the exhibition space in Berlin, which doubled in size.
Since its move, the gallery has focused on young emerging and mid-career artists. With a front room and a smaller back room as exhibition space for its artists, the gallery is able to be flexible and experimental.
Represented artists include: Norbert Bisky, Hanne Darboven, Rosemarie Trockel, Amelie von Wulffen and many more.
