Founded in 1992, Galerie Barbara Weiss shows a distinguished group of artists, many of them hailing from Germany, but lots of international ones as well. With an affinity for paintings, the gallery shows strong painters like Monika Baer—who was in this past Documenta exhibition in Kassel—and Nicole Eisenman.

The gallery is known for using their space keenly and exhibits sculpture, installation and photography in addition to the aforementioned painters. Other well-known represented artists include: Ayşe Erkmen, Collier Schorr and Roman Signer.
