Columbia Club
Hollywood screening room no more

Originally built in 1951 as a theater and venue by the US Air Force for “all US personnel and their guests,” the theater regularly hosted American film screenings and premieres like “Captain Horatio Hornblower” featuring Gregory Peck. But as US forces weened and the wall fell, the venue was no longer needed (or really appropriate).

In 1998, the modernist building transformed from a space where American soldiers once took their German Fraulein for the newest Hollywood features into a venue for sports, theater, movies, concerts and much more.
