Whether or not it attracts or repels is still up for discussion, but Magnet has recently opten for a change of location and undertaken an umzug next-door to Watergate in the same building that was once the ill fated Live at Dot.

The deal at the new venue will stay true to Magnet’s roots, up-and-coming metal, hard-rock, emo and postpunk but with a the occasional club nights and a few surprises (Amy McDonald, Darlings of the Splitscreen, Xiu Xiu), thrown in to mix things up a bit. Come for the shows, stay at home for other nights.

Whether they can shake off their reputation for attracting teenyboppers from their former Graefswalder straße location remains to be seen, but we will watch with a keen eye to see how things develop.
