With its golden palm-shaped lamps, intimate lounge area and minimalist black interior, Flamingo presents one of the latest hangout spots for Mitte’s hip and not-to-be-missed crowd. There is certainly some familiar talent here, as Rio, Scala, Broken Hearts Club and King Size Bar are just a few of the other successful venues that have been run by either Conny Opper or Ingrid Junker, Flamingo’s two creators.
Located under the S-Bahn tracks close to Monbijou Park and Hackescher Markt, Flamingo splits its relatively small space between a circular layout that includes a bar, lounge and dancefloor. While you won’t find many big names playing here, a dedicated nightly roster of “DJs for DJs” present their bounty of the hardest-to-find and limited edition records. Adding to it all is the club’s exceptional cocktail selection, which finally provides Berlin its venue where the bartenders mix as well as the DJs themselves.
