The La Comercial chain has all but conquered Barcelona’s El Born district, expanding its original one woman shop to now five stores categorized by woman, man and home, plus a showroom on C/ Calders.

There’s good reason why, and perhaps the best example of the store’s trend-sniffing nose is at the menswear location facing its female counterpart on boutique-heaven Carrer Rec. Lamb-soft cashmere sweaters, thick utilitarian boots and a smattering of colognes were on offer—from the likes of Fred Perry, Rykiel Homme and Comme des Garcons—the last time we visited, along with amazing trinkets like pendants consisting of jeweled skulls and feathers from Corpus Christi. Suffice to say, this mega-chain brandishes a flair for carrying items oozing with commercial appeal.
