This traditional Catalan bar is situated only a short walk away from MACBA—a dominant symbol of Barcelona’s modernity—and with its conventional charm exemplifies the great variety of establishments coexisting in the city, all of which share a central concentration on general enjoyment.
Bar Masia is run by the niece of its founder, and just as the business has stayed in the family, so has the emphasis on drinking, chatting and watching FC Barcelona football. Excluding the Nou Camp itself, this is one of the livelier places to catch a game. If Barcelona happens to score—something we are no longer entitled to take for granted—then anticipate a rowdy rendition of the Barca anthem to carry through the bar.
