Neighboring the Columbus Monument is Europe’s largest Gothic construct, the site where warships were built during Columbus’ time.

Since 1936, the building has housed Barcelona’s extraordinary Maritime Museum, which underwent a series of renovations up through the 1980s. Despite all the work the building has required, it still preserves an astounding amount of original Gothic architecture, and remains an incredible indication of Spain’s rich history.
