Next to Jean Nouvel’s Agbar Tower, British architect David Chipperfield has designed two office buildings to be included in the Audiovisual Campus as part of the master plan for the 22@ district.

This plan aims to transform the entire neighborhood of el Poblenou—previously a cluster of manufacturing industries—into a hub of office and university buildings for activities and companies involved in the fields of new technologies, information, knowledge, communication, and R&D. The Audiovisual Campus (or 22@ Media) is one of the six sectors that comprise the 22@ plan.

The abstract, Dutch-like Chipperfield buildings face the Diagonal avenue and act as projection screens placed perpendicular to the avenue, filtering visuals emanating from the avenue directly to the center of the Campus.
