Edificio Forum—designed by the Swiss architect dream-team of Herzog & de Meuron—is situated at the end of Avinguda Diagonal, at the intersection of this important city street and the Mediterranean coastline.
In respect to urban planning, the space has sought to create an important confluence between the historic city artery and its appendices, as well as with the maritime horizon. This has been accomplished in part by incorporating the Ronda Litoral, the coastal ring road, and the close proximity to the neighboring water treatment plant.
In total, Edificio Forum encompasses an auditorium with a capacity for three thousand spectators, civic and collective areas, halls, offices and restaurants; all organized on a horizontal plane to facilitate the interchange and interrelations of various activities and programs hosted at the Forum.
