A former sweetshop, La Confiteria has retained much of the original shop’s décor and ephemera, and with it a certain innocence.

The bar area is peaceful enough for a good conversation, but not so much so that eyebrows will be raised if the volume happens to rise. This makes it the perfect venue for a kick-off to the evening’s proceedings, or—given its 3am closing time—a calming finalé.

Serving the usual beers, wines, cava, coffee and teas, La Confiteria offers pleasurable respite from the business end of Barcelona, and plenty more besides the expected.
