Barroc is one of the most popular bars in Born, combining a classic wooden decor and laid-back atmosphere with an even-handed emphasis on music and socializing. The dance-floor turns lively after eleven, when a previously down-tempo soundtrack of jazz and lounge music fades away and the sound system starts bursting something altogether more raucous, courtesy of resident DJ Alex. House, garage and deep house then provide a soundtrack to the night, accompanied by some far out visuals on the large projection screen.

If dancing isn’t your thing, or you’ve expended your energy elsewhere, then the bar area has a great cocktail list and friendly, sociable environment.

Once a month, Barroc plays host to a local art exhibition, and it also provides a screen for an annual short-film festival.
