Bar 32 is a simple affair, with an anonymous doorway that does little to hint at the liveliness to be found within. The healthy, cheap food on offer is a favorite of Barrio Gotico’s savvier inhabitants, with great salads and sandwiches to be had, and a soup kitchen that truly seals the deal.

In the evenings Bar 32 tends to liven up considerably, perhaps by inducement of their mojito, which its two Irish proprietors rather confidently claim is the best in Barcelona. The competition is such that we can’t rightly back that statement up, but you have to admire their gall, and we can vouch for what is, in all fairness, a laudably good mojito.
