As one of the most in-demand electronic bands, Berlin-based duo Modeselektor have been busy delivering heavy sets across Europe’s biggest stages. For them, avant-garde is a “very distorted term,” and, as Szary reflects, “It’s been garbled so much in the last 60 years, that the term is probably utterly misleading by now.”
Unlike other artistic projects that overstate their preeminence, Modeselektor has maintained an unpretentious yet dynamic approach to songwriting and performing. “What we do is an eternal learning process,” says Bronsert, “It will never end.” This dedication to innovation made them a natural choice as the headlining act at this year’s HMV Forum in London.
