Named in tribute to the owner’s favorite punk band, The Simple Minds, this is not your typical café. For starters it’s more of a dive bar so self-important laptop personnel beware. Although there may be no coffee on tap, there is an abundance of beer that’s both tasty and cheap. With a vibrant music scene, a hip and friendly crowd, this is a must see if you are crawling through the canal city.

The Minds is situated on Spuistraat, around the corner of Dam square; keep your eyes peeled for the big red neon arrow pointing the way.
