In 1948, Dutch art and antiques dealer Nicolaas Kroese had a dream: to establish a renowned restaurant that celebrated traditional Dutch cuisine and introduced it to the world! It’s been almost 40 years since Kroese passed away, but judging by the sheer number of pictures in his VIP gallery (including John Wayne, Elvis Presley and Walt Disney) he was very successful. But success has a price, and De Vijff Vlieghen has had to pay up.
The menu promises excellent nouveau cuisine versions of old-fashioned Dutch dishes at fairly steep prices, so make sure you check the restaurant for crowdedness or ask the staff when you make a reservation.
