Stepping inside Brasserie van Baerle feels like being welcomed into someone’s home and you are treated accordingly. If you’re in Amsterdam for the weekend then this is where to spend your Sunday brunch. The Chef’s Breakfast comprises blinis, salmon caviar, salmon, carpaccio and a glass of Crémant de Loire. Definitely worth getting up for in our books.
But if you’re more of a night owl, then a perfect combo is dinner at the brasserie before taking in a performance at the Concert Hall, conveniently located just around the corner. Remember though, as is with many institutions, tradition reigns supreme—an ensemble composed for polite company is recommended with a side order of demure demeanour.
