This charming venue off the Leidseplein hosts a range of theater, dance, music and cabaret productions, often hosting smaller companies and younger performers.
The charmingly intimate Kleine Zaal, or “small hall”, which has its own bar, plays host to a variety of musical acts, as well as cabaret and one-man shows. Larger theater and dance productions are often performed in the Grote Zaal, the “big hall”. The Bellevue is also a central location during festivals, including the Amsterdam Fringe festival in September.
The theater café and restaurant, De Smoeshaan, within the building, serves drinks and food (of the Italian and French persuasions) throughout the day, and before and after shows.
