Founded in 1994, SMART Project Space is an all encompassing arts space that only recently moved to its city-west locale. Located in a former anatomical pathology laboratory, the space is bit like a laboratory itself, experimenting in fields of culture, collaboration and urban engagement.
With extensive gallery spaces, two cinemas, a music production space, artist studios for residencies, a cafe, a library and a bookshop, the complex is ambitious, to say the least. In its expansive 3,600 square meter space, there is always something to see, be it their twice-daily film screenings, an ambient installation in the cafe, LAB111, or the current exhibition.
